The Club does not make publicly available in any manner such personal information as home address or phone number. This information can only be accessed by Club staff. The Club has taken every reasonable precaution to protect unauthorized parties from obtaining Club members' e-mail addresses, but participation in the Club can potential expose a person's e-mail address to the general public. E-mail addresses are not sold, leased or loaned to outside agencies, including marketers of any sort.
The Club reserves the right to use e-mail addresses, including those on RV-Talk and RV-Talk-Social, to market, in a limited manner, its own services, specials and goods, as well as the goods and services of any Club sponsors. Sponsors will not be given direct access to Club mailing lists, but the Club reserves the right to include information about its sponsors in Club mailings.
The Club does not approve of junk mail and strives to keep commercial mailings to a minimum, but asks Club members to recognize that some marketing is necessary to ensure the health and viability of the Club. The Club policy is to keep all marketing material as respectful of its members as possible.
Outside agencies are strictly prohibited from using RVClub e-mail addresses, no matter how obtained, for any sort of commercial purpose. This includes, but not limited to, mailings to RV-Talk and RV-Talk-Social.
Participation in the RVClub at any level is entirely voluntary. RVClub members and members of the public are encouraged to use caution before taking and implementing any advice received via any RVClub service, including RV-Talk, and before agreeing to and making personal, in-person contact with anybody they meet through the RVClub or its services.
Club members and others should recognize that advice given via online forums is no substitute for the advice of professional experts. While some of the advice may be correct and worthy, neither the Club nor the individuals giving the advice can be held liable for individual decisions to follow that advice, should that advice prove to be wrong or faulty and cause some harm, whether personal or material, to befall any individual or group.
Club members and others should also recognize that the nature of online contacts is one that makes it hard to judge the character and trustworthiness of other people. Caution should be used before agreeing to meet personally any individual contacted via any online forum. Club members and others are solely responsible for their personal actions and decisions. The Club accepts no liability or responsibility for any harm, whether personal or material, resulting from a Club member or others' decision or action to meet or have other contact with individuals contacted through the RVClub or any of its services.
Until July 2008, Club members were issued ID member numbers. You may see long-time members using these numbers in their posts are signature or files or on their profile pages. Here is what the terms mean:
In the past, lifetime memberships were offered to community leaders. Since we no longer charge dues, we no longer grant lifetime memberships, but we still recognize and honor our longterm voluntters.
Please help keep our records up to date by updating your member profile whenever you change your e-mail address. The e-mail address contained in your member RVC_PROFILE is the one we use for Club business. This member database is not tied into our mailing list system, so if you are subscribe to RV-Talk or another Club mailing list, you will need to follow the specified procedure for the specific list in order to change your mailing address for the list.
